Upon killing any mob, it might drop a geode, depending on dimensions and height.

There are five types of geodes: stone, deepslate, netherrack, blackstone and endstone. Each geode has its own loot table.

Geodes can be cracked by taking a pickaxe in the second hand and right-clicking.

Alternatively, geodes are dropped from geodites - rare blocks that generate underground. Geodites drop geodes when mined, but you rather should pick them up with silk touch to use with geodrill.
