Installing JESSI on iOS 17.0.1 and 16.7.x (jailbroken) - Baconium/JESSI GitHub Wiki

This guide will assume that you are already jailbroken, it will not serve as a tutorial to jailbreak. If you would like a tutorial to jailbreak, click here and find a guide for your device and iOS version. If you cannot find a guide to jailbreak your device on that website, your device is not jailbreakable. At the time of writing this guide, devices with an A14 and newer or M1 and newer chip can be jailbroken on iOS 17.3.1 and earlier, devices with an A12 or A13 chip can be jailbroken on iOS 26.0.1 and earlier (excluding iOS 18.7.2-18.7.10), and devices with an A11 or older chip can be jailbroken regardless of iOS version.

Installing TrollStore Lite and Appsync Unified

  1. Open your package manager (likely either Sileo or Zebra) and add the following sources:
  1. In the search bar, search for "TrollStore Lite" and add it to queue (tap on the package, then tap the "get" button)
  2. In the search bar, search for "Appsync Unified" and add it to queue (tap on the package, then tap the "get" button)
  3. Open the queue and tap "Confirm", then wait for the packages to be installed
  4. If it asks you to respring, respring your device. otherwise, just tap "Done"
  5. TrollStore Lite and Appsync Unified are now installed on your device!

Installing JESSI

  1. Download the latest release of JESSI
  2. Open TrollStore and tap the "+" button in the top right
  3. Find JESSI.ipa in the file browser window that appears, then tap on it
  4. Tap the "Install" button
  5. JESSI is now installed on your idevice!

There is no need for any additional steps for enabling JIT, since TrollStore allows JESSI to enable JIT automatically. As a side note, JESSI will run the JVM in a separate process on your device (this means that you can stop servers without it crashing the app), and doesn't require location permissions or playing silent audio in the background in order to run in the background.
