Run locally and deploy an example project in AWS - BIBSYSDEV/pipeline-builder GitHub Wiki
- You have an AWS account
- You have installed and configured the AWS CLI client on your PC
- You have access to the example project.
- If you do not belong to the BIBSYSDEV group, you can fork the project
In the following, we assume that we will be using the original sample project. If you have forked it, then you should replace the occurrences of "BIBSYSDEV" with the correct account name.
-
Navigate to your AWS account
- Add an API key for reading from Github as described here
-
Clone the Pipeline Builder to a folder (e.g
pipeline-builder) -
Build the project
-
Run the command:
python run.py BIBSYSDEV pipeline-builder-sample-projects master create <awsRegion>where: awsRegion: an AWS region, such as eu-west-1
-
In AWS CloudFormation, you should be able to see the stack that will build the pipeline
-
After the pipeline stack has been created, go to CodePipelines and select the newly created pipeline
-
After completion of the test or the final stage (or, in fact, any other time) run the following command:
python run.py BIBSYSDEV pipeline-builder-sample-project master delete <awsRegion> -
In CloudFormation, you can watch the generated stacks being deleted
- The command run.py takes the following arguments:
- Github owner account
- Repository name
- The branch we want to deploy
- "create" or "delete"
- AWS Region.
