What is the Baldur's Gate 3 Community Library?

Baldur's Gate 3 modding is in its early days - not quite its infancy, thanks to its time in Early Access, but new things are still being learned every day. The Community Library is a collaborative effort among members of the modding community to create a common collection of Spells, Scripts, Items, Races, Passives, and more, with the goal of assisting modders in creating new content and keeping their content compatible with similar mods.

What Problems Does the Community Library Solve?

There's a lot of effort involved in making even small mods - setting up new spells or feats, creating the scaffolding for a race, making your own localization, and even ensuring compatibility is a struggle.

BG3 Community Library is designed to do the following:

  • Contain easy templates and tutorials for modders to work with for their own mods.
  • Provide a central location to store and utilize items, spells, status, feats, races, and more.
  • Ease the process of keeping Progression-related mods compatible.
  • Prevent unnecessary effort modders may spend reinventing the wheel.

How Can I Get Involved?

Whether you want to contribute directly to the library, or if you just want to utilize what's available, the Community Library welcomes you. The Issues tab is a place for reporting issues, proposing new additions, and discussing the future of the project.
