How to setup autocomplete for the metadata entries - BEXIS2/Core GitHub Wiki

Goal

This page will describe, how to setup autocomplete for the metadata entries. The result should looks like this.

Introduction

The BEXIS 2 there are parties to manage all kinds of entities such as people, organizations, projects etc. These parties are configurable in a partyTypes.xml document in the workspace/BAM folder.

Import/update the parties

  1. by the first initialization
  2. by update the module bam

If a new metadata structure is imported, the system doesn´t know what is a person, institute etc. So the metadata structure and the parties need to map!

Workflow

  • In manage metadata structure page all currently installed metadata structures listed
  • For each entry there is a mapping to system and mapping from system button, these buttons open the mapping page.
  • One side is the system the other side is the structure, map the parties from the system to elements in our metadata structure

Test

  1. Start to create a dataset and try to enter a party in a mapped field. A dropdown list appears and show a list of possible parties.
