Logistic Warehouse Format
The logistics warehouse is divided into 3 zones:
- Goods receiving area.
- Logistic area. (Where the products are stored)
- Goods dispatch area.
About Logistic area.
This area is divided into : (Areas, Lanes, Bays and Locations).
(Imagine a sudoku board with 9 squares, each square representing a shelf)
- Area represents a large zone where multiple shelves are located, where boxes of products can be placed.
- Lane represents a specific row of shelves within that area.
- Bay represents a specific column of shelves.
- Location represents a specific position on a particular shelf (which is located on a bay/lane and in an area).
About boxes of products
There exists two types of boxes : (UDC & UDS)
-
The UDCs are the boxes in which the merchandise is placed upon goods arrival and stored in the shelves of the warehouse.
-
The UDS boxes are packing lists where the desired products to be delivered are listed.
About UDC Configuration
UDC Type
-
Divisible : UDCs of this type can be divided into smaller parts to facilitate handling and storage.
-
Indivisible : UDCs of this type cannot be divided and contain products that must be handled or stored as whole units.
UDC Content
- Single Size : UDCs of this type contain products of a single size or variant.
- Multiple Sizes : UDCs of this type contain products of different or varied sizes.
- Multiple Products : UDCs of this type contain multiple distinct products.
- Extra Products : UDCs of this type contain products not listed in the described goods receipt.
Processes
Arrival of goods Process
When the truck arrives, it brings with it a list of products. Initiating the workflow involves creating a goods receipt based on this list. Following this, jobs are generated for workers, who receive instructions on their devices.
At the beginning of each job, the UDC barcode is scanned and added to the box. Once the UDC is filled, another one is scanned, and this process continues until all products are accounted for. Only then are the UDCs transported to designated storage locations. Here, the shelf location (marked with a barcode) is scanned, finalizing the process.
Upon completion of the job, the Logistic section in the BackOffice displays the UDCs along with their respective quantities and locations.
Warehouse Movements Process
Goods departures Process
A Picking list is created with the desired products to be shipped to the destination, followed by the creation of jobs for workers to load the goods into UDSs. These UDSs are then loaded onto a truck and sent to the destination.
At the start of a job on the terminal, the worker scans the destination UDS, then receives instructions on where to pick up the merchandise to be placed into it. Similar to the goods receiving process, when the UDS is filled, a new one is scanned, and the addition of products continues in this manner.
Upon finishing scanning the necessary products for loading, the instructions will end, signaling to the user that the job is completed, prompting them to press the finish button.
Upon job completion, in the Packing List section, new UDSs with the state 'NEW' will be created. The final step involves loading them onto the truck and creating the Outgoing document which includes the associated packing lists, to remove the products from the logistics stock and mark the packing lists as 'CLOSED'.
