Backup policy in Block Volumes

We can also change the backup policy by clicking on edit option on the top left corner

Backup policy in Boot Volumes

Next, we will change Boot volume backup policy

Click on the Edit option in the top left corner.

Choose the appropriate backup policy (Gold, Silver, Bronze) based on your requirements.

As we can see, we have selected the backup policy (Here we selected Gold).

There are three types of backup policy available

  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Bronze

Gold

This is the highest level of service, offering the most comprehensive and robust features. It often includes:

  • Frequent backups (e.g., hourly)

  • Long retention periods

  • Cross-region replication for disaster recovery

  • Highest priority in terms of support and recovery times

  • Advanced security features

Silver

This is a mid-tier level of service, providing a balance between features and cost. It generally includes:

  • Regular backups (e.g., daily)

  • Moderate retention periods

  • Optional cross-region replication

  • Priority support with slightly longer recovery times

  • Standard security features

Bronze

This is the basic level of service, suitable for less critical data and applications. It typically includes:

  • Less frequent backups (e.g., weekly)

  • Shorter retention periods

  • No cross-region replication

  • Standard support with longer recovery times

  • Basic security features
