When configuring your script, there are variables for the username and password for your router. With most routers you can simply use the admin password (the one you log-in with on the routers homepage). However, with some routers, it is not clear what the username is (you can try 'Admin', 'admin, 'administrator' and 'Administrator' of course). It is also not necessarily advisable to use your admin login in such an insecure fashion.

I therefore advice to configure your device to use an account that only has the rights it needs to perform the desired actions. Like that, the damage will be minimal if someone manages to get hold of your account data. In the Fritz!Box this configuration can for example look like this:

(Be aware that you might have to switch to the advanced view of your router configuration interface) Note, that the username dslf-reset is not supported.

Make sure to also check "Access from the Internet allowed" if you want to use the device from anywhere but the internal network. It might be additionally necessary to follow these steps if you want to use DECT phones.
