Team Setup and management

At the start of the project, the team brainstormed ideas over a few meetings to find a project that provides an interesting and unique challenge to tackle that required a real-time solution. Ultimately, the project of a smart bird feeder was selected. After some discussion, the team found that each member would be able to provide an aspect to the project which was based upon their previous experience.

Once the project was selected, team roles were assigned.

Working Environment

To ensure a good working environment the following was setup:

A shared OneDrive folder

• Meeting minutes were uploaded to allow team members to keep track of their own section and monitor each other's progress

GitHub

• The issues section was used to pull up bugs, improvements and documentation required
• Pull requests were reviewed and approved by other members, giving a chance for work to be checked before it was merged to the main branch

Bi-weekly standups at the start and end of the week.

• During each meeting, progress was discussed and goals were set for each team member
• Provided an opportunity for team members to discuss problems and ask for support if needed

Group Chat

• A group chat was used for communication throughout the project
• Allowed for allocated time where each member could access the Raspberry Pi for their own work
