BPA data on gadi - AusARG/ABLeS GitHub Wiki
Data downloaded to gadi from the Bioplatforms Australia Data Portal, should be sored in /g/data/xl04/bpadata according to the following directory structure to facilitate sharing and collaboration.
The parent directory name for your data should be constructed from the full genus and species name of your organism e.g Tiliqua_rugosa. Directly below the parent directory is a README file that outlines:
- The title of the dataset
- Who the data custodians are and the terms for use of the data
- A description of the data structure and
- Changes that have been made to the data Please make sure this is kept current.
The metadata directory should contain the metadata associated with the sequencing data, which is available from the BPA data portal and forms part of the data download.
The raw directory contains the raw sequence files as downloaded without any changes. These are subdivided further by platform and purpose
The clean directory mirrors the structure of raw and can be used to store processed data e.g. after adapter removal and quality trimming if this data will be used by collaborators for further analysis. Please add information on how these files were derived in the README mentioned above.
This is an example of the complete structure.

A template directory structure has been created to simplify this directory setup. All you need to do is navigate to /g/data/xl04/bpadata and type
cp -r template/ <genus_species>/
where <genus_species> is replaced with your organism name.
