Alarm Panel Qwidget - AudacySpace/quindar-ux GitHub Wiki

Description The purpose of this qwidget is to to alert operators to any out-of-bounds telemetry, and track which mission’s vehicle/subsystem is effected by the off-nominal condition.

The qwidget layout has three views:

  • Main View (Default view)
  • Delete Menu
  • Settings Menu

Main View On opening/adding the qwidget, this view is displayed. This viewing window has the following main elements

  • Vehicle Master Alarm button (one column for each vehicle) and buttons displaying all the sub systems of the vehicle below it.
  • Status board.

Vehicle Master Alarm and Sub systems

  • Vehicle Master alarm status depends on the status of all its sub systems.
  • The colors for master alarm and its sub systems is based on the telemetry data.
  • There are two types of alerts(Alarm,Caution) with bounds(high or low). The colors are red for alarm(high or low); yellow for caution(high or low) and green for in bound data.
  • Priority of Alerts: Alarm > Caution
  • The master alarm is a button which flashes when there is a new alert which is not been acknowledged. The flashing effect is removed for the master alarm when operator acknowledges by clicking it.
  • The sub systems for a vehicle are buttons(not clickable), exist below the master alarm and display the color based on the status of the telemetry data. The flashing effect is not present for the sub systems.
  • Master Alarm Color Priority Cases
    • If for a vehicle, there is an alert type ‘Caution’ for one sub system, and alert type ‘Alarm’ for another sub system, the highest priority alert is Alarm, so master alarm color is red with a flashing effect.
    • If for a vehicle, there is an alert type 'Caution' for one sub system, and other sub systems are in bound, the highest priority alert is Caution, so the master alarm color is yellow with a flashing effect.
  • The flashing effect is stopped when the alert has be acknowledged by clicking the master alarm for the vehicle and until a new alert.

Status Board

  • The status board displays the log of all the alerts with most recent at the top of the board.
  • Alerts are tracked every second and saved to the database when there is a new alert.
  • Each row in the status board has a timestamp, channel(telemetry data item name),alert type(Alarm/Caution),bound type(high/low) and name and role of the operator who acknowledged the alert.
  • These alerts can be the alerts which are acknowledged, not acknowledged or old(inactive) alerts.
  • The inactive alerts are disabled with a color gray.
  • If a channel has an alert existing already in the table and it receives another same alert with the same bound value after a while the time is updated to the new alert's time.
  • If a channel has an alert and has been acknowledged, but receives the same alert with the same bound and not acknowledged yet, the alert is appended as a new row in the status board to let the operators know that the new alert has not be acknowledged yet.
  • Every acknowledgment with a new timestamp appears as a new row in the status board.
  • The status board display is same for all the users.
  • When a channel is in bound, the master alarm for that channel turns to green but the status board still shows its previous alerts in the table if any but as inactive(text of the row is changed to gray color).
