Hot Topics

  • Discussion about new CDC modules including "Healthcare Supply Pathway" module
    • This looks a lot like a questionnaire; but if it was going to be a measure, could think about shoehorning.

    • Josh: Is this something we consider in-scope?

    • Dave: From my conversations with Carequality members, health systems are willing to report this information to state-level public health authorities; they have concerns about competing hospitals learning this information, and concerns about higher-level orgs (above the state) misrepresenting information

    • Keith: Who shares and when is a policy issue, so it's out of scope for Saner. For reporting, this CDC module could fit into a reporting schema and I don't see why we'd prevent it, but for priorities, we should focus on the first two measures out and demonstrable. Re: experimentation, we might think about supporting these newer measures, e.g. with Questionnaires

    • Summing up discussion:

      1. Policy decisions are out of scope; Saner is focused on technology
      2. We want to get the initial CDC and FEMA modules working first, with MeasureReport, before we take on new forms
      3. When we get to the newer CDC modules, or information on lab supply availability, this will require exploration -- possibly we'll want to use QuestionnaireResponse for this, or possibly MeasureReport
    • Andrea: How does this reporting apply to centralized labs that aren't affiliated with a hospital?

      • Keith: Sometimes important to report by location rather than an organization
  • IDs for Hospitals - See https://chat.fhir.org/#narrow/stream/226195-Covid-19-Response/topic/IDs.20for.20US.20Hospitals
  • Yes/No/Choose One answer (Questionnaire type) responses:
    • New measures are more like questionnaires
    • N95 Days Supply is also more like a questionnaire

Action Items

  • Ai team to set up orientation meetings for new participants to get up to speed
  • Ryan and Keith to make sure unassigned items are accounted for
