Tiered

Tiered (formerly the standalone Tiered mod) adds random quality/rarity tiers to tools, weapons, armor, shields, and more — and a way to reroll them at the anvil.

How tiers work

Whenever you craft, loot, trade for, or pick up an eligible item, it has a chance to roll one of six rarity tiers, each color-coded and granting its own bonus attribute(s):

  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary
  • Unique

Higher tiers are rarer and generally grant stronger bonuses — extra damage, armor, durability, dig speed, crit chance, reach, and more, depending on the specific modifier rolled. The tier name and its bonus show up right in the item's tooltip.

Reforging

Don't like the tier you got? Take the item to an anvil along with a reforge-addition item (see the anvil's "addition" slot) to reroll it for a new random tier. Your Smithing skill level and Luck both improve your odds of rerolling into one of the higher-weighted (better) tiers instead of a low one.

A dedicated Reforging tab is also available from your inventory (toggle it in the config if you'd rather use the anvil only).

Commands

Server operators (permission level 3+) can force or clear tiers directly:

  • /tiered tier <players> common|uncommon|rare|epic|legendary|unique — forces the targeted players' held item to the given tier.
  • /tiered untier <players> — removes the tier (and its bonus attributes) from the targeted players' held item.

Requirements

Tiered requires AutoTag to be installed separately — it provides the item tags (c:pickaxes, c:armor, etc.) that Tiered's modifiers key off of. See Compatibility for the full dependency list and optional EasyAnvils/TooltipFix hooks.

See Configuration for the config screen options, and Developer: Datapack Creation if you want to add, change, or remove tier modifiers yourself.
