Player Jobs - Atlasroar/WandererZ GitHub Wiki

Jobs

Jobs (formerly the standalone JobsAddon mod) let you get "employed" in a profession and earn job XP, job levels, vanilla XP, WandererZ XP, and optionally in-game currency (via Numismatic Overhaul) for doing related activities.

The 8 jobs

Job Typical activity that grants XP
Miner Breaking ore/stone-type blocks
Farmer Harvesting/planting crops
Lumberjack Chopping trees (including bulk-chop via TreeChop, if installed)
Fisher Catching fish with a fishing rod
Builder Placing blocks
Brewer Brewing potions
Smither Smithing/repairing at the anvil, crafting with smithing table
Warrior Combat-related actions

Getting employed

  1. Open the Jobs tab (inventory screen, next to the WandererZ tab).
  2. Pick an available job slot and select a job to get employed.
  3. By default you can hold multiple jobs at once (configurable, default 2); changing jobs has a cooldown (default 24000 ticks = 20 minutes) before you can switch again.
  4. While employed, matching actions grant job XP and, on level-up, rewards.

Job XP & leveling

Each job levels independently using the formula:

xpToNextLevel = jobXPBaseCost + jobXPCostMultiplicator * (jobLevel ^ jobXPExponent)

with a configurable max level (default 100) and optional hard cap on the XP cost per level. On every job level-up you can receive (depending on config):

  • Vanilla XP
  • WandererZ XP (counts toward your overall WandererZ level)
  • In-game currency, if Numismatic Overhaul is installed

Admin commands

Operators (permission level 3) can inspect/modify a player's job levels with:

/jobmanager <targets> add|remove|set <job> <level>
/jobmanager <targets> get <job|all>

Hardcore/hard mode

If "hard mode" is enabled in the WandererZ config, dying resets your job scoreboard progress and imposes the job-change cooldown again on respawn.

See Configuration for all tunable job options, and Compatibility for the optional compat mods that unlock extra job interactions (Farmer's Delight, FallingTree, Harvest Scythes, TreeChop, Numismatic Overhaul) and the bundled resource-pack compatibility for other content mods.
