Content Package: Classic - Athlaeos/ValhallaMMO GitHub Wiki

Classic is similar to Lite, sharing most of the same perks and recipes, but with a few tweaks.

Download

Download classic.json

Download newversionfix.json as well if you're on 1.21.3 or higher

The fix exists because custom armors don't exist in the same way in these versions compared to older ones. Without it, your copper armors will appear like colored leather armor.

Installation:

  1. Download the file above and place it somewhere in your ValhallaMMO directory
  2. Ingame, execute the command /val import classic. You should do this from console with nobody online!
  3. If you're on Minecraft version 1.21.3 or higher, execute /val import newversionfix as well!
  4. Enjoy your content!

Only interested in the upgrades? Download and import this instead!

You will not need to import either of the previous two files then.

You should be good to go now

Crafting

First, you'll notice you can no longer craft iron, gold, and diamond gear with plain materials. Your materials will need some extra work before you can work them, and you'll need an anvil!

For iron and gold, first heat your ingots. A furnace, Blast Furnace, or Campfire will work:
image

For diamonds, you'll need to make them unstable first. This is done with ender pearls:
image

Then when you put them in a crafting table, you should see a message pop up saying you need an anvil:
img

So, make an anvil first (recipe hasn't changed) and put it within 5 blocks of your crafting table:
image

Now you can craft iron, gold, and diamond gear! It should look something like this:
image

You can now also craft copper gear! Copper serves as an intermediary between stone and iron.
As iron tools are a bit harder to get now, copper tools allow you to mine the same things iron tools allow you to!
image

You'll notice it has a couple of tooltips.
Masterful refers to the quality of the item. This hasn't changed from Lite. Masterful means it's crafted excellently, and far exceeds vanilla expectations.
Upgrades: 3 refers to the amount of upgrades you can apply on the item. Learn more at the upgrades section.
Unfit is applied on any armor you craft, and it means your armor doesn't fit your body all that well yet. You can make it fit better by applying some extra material to the item, like so:
image
This doubles its armor value and grants you more Smithing experience, so it's worth doing!

Untempered can only occur on Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Copper equipment. Metallic tools when just crafted will be rather soft and weak. To make them stronger, you have to temper them first.
This is done by first heating the item:
image
And then clicking (or dropping) the item on a water-filled cauldron to cool it:
image
This process doubles the durability on the item, grants you more Smithing experience, and also increases the mining speed on tools!

Weapons (and tools, technically), except those made of stone or wood, will also get the Blunt tooltip, which means the item must be sharpened for it to get the most out of its damage.
This is done by holding right click with the item in hand on a grindstone, like so:
image
When sparks fly off the grindstone, your weapon will be sharpened and it will do a lot more damage. This also grants some Smithing experience.

Sorry, that was a lot of information just now. Don't worry though, here's more

Upgrades

Each piece of equipment from the starts gets 3 upgrade slots, which you can fill however you want from a pretty decent selection of upgrades.
First, you can add more upgrade slots to the item with the following recipes, up to 6 per item.
image image image

I'll make the upgrades as compact as I can, bare with me here.
Most upgrades can be applied up to 5 times, they do stack!
