What is Athena Security Group?

In the practical sense Athena Security Group (ASG) is a non-exclusive group that plays scheduled sessions of Arma 3 in a custom-built sandbox campaign (the Sandbox). We are available on Discord, Reddit, and occasionally post videos of our operations on YouTube through our affiliates.

Within the fiction of the Sandbox ASG is a privately-funded, rapidly-deployable, globally-available force service firm capable of full-spectrum security, stability, intelligence and warfighting operations. The company deploys to selected operational areas at the request of a contracting party, and executes on its core mission objectives. The compact size of our organization enables our ability to maintain client discretion, our advanced logistics connections, and commitment to integrity and quality ensure we provide the fastest, most cost-effective, and mission-effective services to our clientele.

What is the Sandbox?

A campaign begins when a map is selected and lasts until a campaign objective is accomplished, or the leadership determines it is time to wind down operations and move on to another area of operation (AO).

When the campaign begins command staff select a location for deployment into the AO. The expeditionary force (those players on the server when the Campaign starts) will enter the area and establish a permanent base of operations.

Because ASG is a company, it begins each campaign with a company bank balance. Equipment or vehicles that must be requisitioned subtract from this balance, as does each player's death (which subtracts a life insurance adjustable for the deceased's family), and any civil penalties brought against the company.

Other actions within the AO will contribute money to the company bank account, which will allow more advanced equipment to be requisitioned. The company is paid a nominal fee for the presence of each active force member, and completing objectives and cases also contributes to the pool.
