How To setup GCC 4.4 for CUDA - AstroGPU/swarm GitHub Wiki

If the version of GCC on your computer is 4.5, NVCC is not going to work and complain. To fix this, follow these steps:

• Install GCC 4.4 (On ubuntu use: $ apt-get install gcc-4.4)
• Go to the folder that you installed CUDA (/usr/local/cuda)
• Go to the bin folder
• Make symbolic links for gcc, cpp and g++

ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-4.4 gcc
ln -s /usr/bin/cpp-4.4 cpp
ln -s /usr/bin/g++-4.4 g++
