0: Downloading and installing the PRSE compiler - Asterisk007/prse GitHub Wiki

  1. Ensure you have the prerequisites taken care of:
This program was designed to run on Linux-based operating systems. I cannot guarantee compatibility with any other OS at the current moment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux terminal commands, and using Linux systems. You'll need to at least know:
    • How to download source files and compile them
    • How to obtain and install the programs necessary to compile said source files
  • A Linux distribution installed on your current machine
    • Options are:
      • Installing Linux on a bootable hard drive
      • A virtual machine, such as VirtualBox or VMWare
      • Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (this is what I used to develop PRSE, fun fact!)
  • Required programs to compile:
  1. Clone the repository from master
    git clone https://github.com/Asterisk007/prse.git
or, if you prefer to use SSH
    git clone [email protected]:Asterisk007/prse.git

  2. Build the source code

cd prse/src
mkdir build && cd build
cmake --DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release ..
make
  1. Test that your build is functional
    ./prsec --version
should print the following, or some equivalent:
prsec (PRSE compiler), written by Daniel Ellingson
Version 0.0.2
Documentation available online at https://asterisk007.gitlab.io/prse/docs/
  1. Install the compiler
    make install
You may need to run make install as super user
