Here is a solution for the problem that monoSLAM does not work "out of the box" in some cases. The problem lies in the conversion of the floatstrings inside of the configfile monoslam_state.ini into real float values inside of the program. My version of C# (VS2010) needs a comma instead of a decimal point to convert the float values correctly. Since the whole configfile uses comma as a delimiter between the values, monoSLAM converts wrong values and therefore starts with the wrong configuration.

My solution was to change the delimiter , to ; inside of the sourcecode, then deleted the original configfile and therefore forced monoSLAM to generate a new configfile with correct values and delimiter. After all these changes monoSLAM works fine in simulation and real camera mode.
