Setting up arm VM for development - AshwinKrishn/Self_Learning_Wiki GitHub Wiki

Bootinng ARM aarch64 VM We cannot directly boot an ISO from internet. We need to create a virtual disk. Boot the ISO installer using the virtual disk, then install the OS on the virtual disk.

Prerequsites apt-get install qemu-system-arm apt-get install qemu-efi-aarch64 apt-get install qemu-utils

Download the required ISO for installation. I am using the following
wget http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/bionic-updates/main/installer-arm64/current/images/netboot/mini.iso

  1. Create Flash Images. These are required for booting. dd if=/dev/zero of=flash1.img bs=1M count=64 dd if=/dev/zero of=flash0.img bs=1M count=64 dd if=/usr/share/qemu-efi-aarch64/QEMU_EFI.fd of=flash0.img conv=notrunc
