Setup for cypress and real world application RWA

Prerequisites:

1. Downloading and installing Node.js, NPM & Yarn

Download Node.JS

Download NPM npm install -g npm

Download Yarn npm install -g yarn

2. Checking your version of npm and Node.js

node -v

npm -v

Checking your version of Yarn

yarn --version

Get started with the RWA:

1. On your terminal (CMD), make a new folder on your preference location (i.e. C:\Documents\CypressProject)

C:\> cd Documents

C:\Documents> mkdir CypressProject

C:\Documents> cd cypressproject

2. Clone the repository from github:

C:\Documents\CypressProject> git clone https://github.com/cypress-io/cypress-realworld-app.git

3. For the following commands you need to enter to the new folder that was crated / Cloned

C:\Documents\CypressProject> cd cypress-realworld-app

4. Install all the dependencies of the project

C:\Documents\CypressProject\cypress-realworld-app> yarn install

5. Start the app on a localhost 3000 Note: leave this terminal open

C:\Documents\CypressProject\cypress-realworld-app> yarn start

6. open a new terminal (CDM) to Start testing with cypress.

C:\> cd Documents\CypressProject\cypress-realworld-app

C:\Documents\CypressProject\cypress-realworld-app> yarn cypress:open

7. Open your project folder on your IDE of preference to edit any part of the project.
