Intro to Hydroponics (SJ)

This book is a comprehensive beginners guide to hydroponics. This will be useful for us to gain the gardening knowledge in order to better automate the process.

Urban Gardening

Highlights the importance of the system and its implications as well as provides information for measuring and controlling nutrients and water conditions for hydroponics. A solid book for looking at the setup of the growing equipment.

Explanation of Cockpit (SJ)

This article introduces and explains Cockpit, a monitoring service that can be used with Raspberry Pi's. This software is definitely on the list to be used in our project.

Interesting smart phone controlled setup. (CM)

Has a really nice grow setup but maybe not what we need for the networking side of things. It also has some 3d printing files for pipes and specific joints. I like the housing unit for the Pi.

Complete build guide that is a bit extra. (CM)

Really great setup and detailed steps for everything from building to programming the Pi and connecting boards. Potentially high budget and some things can definitely be altered. Has some awesome links at the bottom for plant growing.

Demonstration of Pi controlled plant watering (SJ)

Another example of Pi sensors working with physical pumps to maintain healthy water levels in a growing environment. Most interesting to our project is the collection of open source Python scripts used in the project.

Creating A Pump System

Great build of the nutrient pump system done on a budget. Fully compatible with mycodo. https://www.anyleaf.org/blog/project:-building-an-automatic-ph-doser

Plant nutrients and ppm for lettuce

A brief power point showing ideal growing conditions for lettuce as well as equations for converting PPM and EC.

Plant Needs Chart

Large list of plants and the conditions they thrive in. The EC will need to be converted to match what the atlas sensor is giving out for measurements.
