Using Vox Lotus

First thing's first, let's discuss the program itself, then we will get to each individual tab. Vox Lotus has many active status indicators in the main tab if you do have it open, but it is primarily designed to sit in your tray and provide you with notifications. That said, if you close the window, then by default it minimizes to your tray.

If you right-click the tray icon, you will get options to Open Vox Lotus if you have minimized it, fully Exit the program, or bring up a handy little About dialog with a lot of links to help you out.

In the directory alongside the program, you should find a configuration file that you can tweak if you like, but this is discussed in greater detail on other wiki pages on the sidebar to the right. There might also be an error log if something bad has happened. If you do report any bugs or issues to the issue tracker, which is a very good thing that cool people do, then please include this log if you get the chance.

Alright, on to the meat of the program - the tabs themselves.

Main Tab

wa

The main tab serves two purposes: it gives you the current state of the game, and it allows you to choose certain settings.

The large area on the top will only show operations that are active and that match your filters. This includes alerts as well as invasions. It also shows how these operations are progressing over time. When an operation expires or completes, it will disappear from this tab but will remain in the log. Rewards shown in brackets are the ones that matched your filters, flagging this operation as important.

On the bottom, you have several options:

  • Popup Options: These allow you to control whether there are tray "toast" notifications. You can control whether these appear when you are playing or not playing.
  • Speaking Options: These allow you to control whether notifications are spoken using text to speech. You can control whether this happens when you are playing or not playing.
  • Extractor Timers: There are two timers in the bottom left that control your extractor tracking. There is no public API to do this automatically, so you need to check them when you start your extractors, and you will be notified when they finish. The time left on the extractor is shown to the right of each extractor check box.
  • Daily Reset Notification: This will notify you when the daily reset occurs. This is when faction standings and your daily reward cycle over. The time left until the reset is shown to the left of the checkbox.
  • Mission Reset Notification: This will notify you when special missions reset. This includes sorties and syndicate missions. The time left until the reset is shown to the left of the checkbox.
  • Cetus Notifications: This will notify you when day or night cycles begin and end on Cetus. The time remaining in the cycle is shown to the left of the currently active cycle.
  • Earth Notifications: This will notify you when day or night cycles begin and end on Earth. The time remaining in the cycle is shown to the left of the currently active cycle.

Cetus Fishertenno: If you are using the Cetus notifications to fish, please note that the timer is set to start night as the Eidolon spawns, and end night as the Eidolon despawns. Night fish appear immediately with the Eidolon, but day fish appear about 5-7 minutes after the Eidolon despawns. Have fun!

Log Tab

wa

The log tab displays all operations that have occurred, even if they didn't match your filters. If an operation did not match your filters, it will be shown slightly faded out. As with the main tab, rewards matching your filters are shown in brackets. Keep in mind that the program tracks these things in real time, so the log cannot show things that happen, for example, while your computer is asleep.

There is a button below the log to clear it if it does get unwieldily large.

Reward Tabs

wa

There are several tabs that itemize individual rewards. They are separated by category, and include:

  • Resources
  • Auras
  • Mods
  • Blueprints
  • Helmets
  • Weapons
  • Skins
  • Other

Most of them contain what you would expect them to contain. The "Other" tab is a bit special, so it will be covered in a bit. The important thing to note is how the items are checked. Notice that there are three check states:

  • Checked: Checked items will always display notifications if their item is being rewarded by an operation.
  • Unchecked: Unchecked items will never display notifications for any reason.
  • Dotted: Dotted items will only display a notification if they are being rewarded by an operation, and that operation is a mission type that is not considered tedious. For most things, this means no endless missions like survival or defense. For credits and endo, it's a bit more strict by default since they are so common. They only allow things like capture and rescue.

To put this into practice, looking at the screenshot above, you can see that I always want to know about alerts for Nitain Extract and Oxium, but I'm only interested in missions for Void Traces if they are quick, and I'm never interested in alerts for Nano Spores.

To help with rapidly configuring lots of items, you can right-click the currently selected tab's header, and there are options to check, uncheck, or dot every single item on that tab. Note that using these will overwrite any previous settings those items had.

Planet Tab

wa

The planet tab is a bit special because it controls where you want to do operations, rather than what rewards you want from them. Perhaps you haven't unlocked all the planets yet and want to uncheck some of them. This is fairly self-explanatory. The main thing to note here is that these checkboxes also have the same three states as rewards, and they function the same. So if you don't mind missions on Eris, but don't want them to be endless because you hate Infested Survival, then you can "dot" Eris here, and it will behave as you imagine it would.

Other Tab

wa

The other tab is similar to a reward tab, but right now it doesn't show much as you can see. What is here, is credits and endo at the bottom. The three state checkbox functions exactly the same here, except it's a bit stricter than usual as mentioned. You can also set the minimum amount of credits or endo you want to be notified about.

Just above those, you'll notice "Undefined Items". If this is checked, it will catch any rewards that are not configured with entries, and attempt to show notifications for them. This is useful if a new item is added to the game, or a special reward is given out such as a riven mod.

Also of note on this screen is the special search box. This allows you to search for special keywords and receive alerts for them, and it supports wildcards and regular expressions if you want to get fancy with it.

About Dialog

wa

We've already mentioned this dialog up near the top, but I'd like to mention it one more time and reiterate that if you ever need help with the program, or have feedback, or need information, then this dialog probably has a link to where you need to go. You can access it by right-clicking the tray icon.
