Overview

The Safari Demo kit demonstrates an industrial monitoring solution. It consists of the Safari board, Meerkat board, and a 24VDC 3-phase electric motor driven by a pair of NXP boards. 2 sensors are attached to the motor to monitoring motor vibration and temperature. A fan blade is mounted to the motor and placed inside enclosure where a differential pressure sensor measures the air pressure generated by the motor's fan blade.

The sensors are connected to the Safari board which performs signal processing and sends the digitized output across a SPI connection to the Meerkat 96Board. From there the signal is sent out serially over a USB cable. It is also available wirelessly via the Meerkat's built-in WiFi transceiver.

Results are viewed graphically on the User's PC using a software GUI.

The following contains instructions on how to set up and install software, connect the hardware and run the demonstration.

Arrow FAEs: To borrow one of these demo kits contact Arrow's Testdrive department. Analog Devices FAEs contact your local Arrow FAE to arrange.
