Edit Mode Game Settings - ArnoldSmith86/virtualtabletop GitHub Wiki
The Game Settings button (gear icon) of the Edit Mode Menu (right sidebar) holds settings that apply to the whole game variant.
Has 4 features.
- Board Settings lets you set the size of the play area for the game variant instead of the default 1600 × 1000. Enter a width and a height (each between 100 and 10000), or pick one of the presets (16:10, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 10:16), use the swap button to turn the board between landscape and portrait, and click Apply. This decides the board's shape, not how big it looks: the whole board is always scaled to fit each player's window, and widget
x,y,widthandheightare measured on this grid. Existing widgets keep their coordinates, so anything past a new, smaller edge is cut off — the panel warns you which widgets that would be. The setting is saved with the game and applies immediately for everyone in the room; Reset to default removes it again. On a board whose shape closely matches the player's window, the toolbar can be hidden with a button, and a thin strip at the left edge of the window brings it back. - If Legacy Mode is active for the current game, a Legacy Mode section will be displayed. The yellow circle notification next to the gear icon shows how many legacy modes are currently active.
- UI settings allows you to change how other players' cursor indicators appear for the game variant. The same setting is used for all players.
- Global Room CSS allows custom CSS to be applied throughout the game variant. This uses traditional CSS syntax rather than the syntax needed for JSON. You can see samples of this at Useful Global CSS Snippets.
