Allowing S3 as a backend for describo - Arkisto-Platform/describo-online GitHub Wiki

The S3 configuration is in two parts: a ui section and an api section.

If you don't have the ui section then the toggle to use S3 as a backend will not show in the interface.

        ...
        "services": {
            "s3": true
            ...
        }
    },
    "api": {
        ....
        "services": {
            "s3": [
                {
                    "name": "Local Minio",
                    "provider": "Minio",
                    "url": "http://minio:9000",
                    "publicUrl": "http://s3.your-domain.net"
                },
                {
                    "name": "AWS S3",
                    "provider": "AWS"
                }
            ]
        },
    }
}
  • name: whatever you want,
  • provider: [ 'AWS' | 'Minio '] - required.
  • url: the url to your S3 service. In a private network this should be the internal interface. However, be sure to set the publicUrl option as well as this is required for file previews. Not required when provider is 'AWS'.
  • publicUrl: the public url to the service to use when getting a link for file previews. Not required when provider is 'AWS'.

If you don't want to allow access to the real AWS S3 service then remove the second configuration block.
