The App - ArduinoEthernetController/API_1.2 GitHub Wiki
Overview
Arduino Ethernet Controller PRO and Arduino Ethernet Controller are the counterparts to the API.
With the app you are able to control your Arduino over the network.
Simply add your Arduino to your control, insert the commands and you are ready to go.
Commands
There are two ways of adding commands to the app. You can create them manually or receive them directly from the Arduino. The Pro version allows you to receive all the commands you have set up in your Arduino directly so you don't have to set them all up by hand, plus, if you are using AEC on more than one device or need to reset your iDevice for some reason you can just insert the commands again with one tap.
Right now we implemented 4 elements
- Button
- Slider
- Color
- Feedback
Button
- There are 2 types of buttons, the virtual button and the pin button.
The virtual button allows you to send a custom command for each ON and OFF button. For example ON = x1 and OFF = x0. Those commands are send to the Arduino, so if you catch x you will ether get 1 or 0 back. A pin button directly refers to a digital hardware pin on the arduino-board. Choose a pin and ON will turn this pin toHIGHand OFF will put it into aLOWstate. You can also change the button labels.
Slider
- There are also 2 types of sliders, virtual slider and pin slider.
If you use a virtual slider you have to set a command wich identifies the whole command for the Arduino, e.g
s. You also have to set aminand amaxvalue wich will be used for your in-app slider and also for the command send to the Arduino.
Like the pin button a pin slider directly refers to a hardware pin, but a analog one. A pin sliders range is always between0and255.
Color
COLORis a more advanced control. It allows you to control a RGB-light or any other application of your imagination that uses HEX-colors.
To useColoryou need to set a identifier, e.gc. In the control tab you can set the color as well as the brightness.
A color command consists of 3 elements, theidentifier, thehex-colorcodeand thebrightnesswich are then combined and send to the Arduino like this:cff0000100(this would be RED with 100% brightness)
Feedback
Feedbackallows you to get data back from your Arduino. All you need to do is to set a identifier and set up you feedback in the Arduino code.
Add a device
You can add a new device on two different ways. You ether search for your Arduino with the network search or type in your information manually.
The widget
The widget allows you to use in-app commands within your notification-center. Just select Edit, select the command you want to be added to the widget and enable the switch On widget or do this while creating a new command.
Settings
You can change the widgets behavior to use a dropdown menu or to always display all content.
