Design Goals

While this is not my first solo development project, it IS my first solo development project where I'm intending to do full art creation. In previous projects, I've been content using assets released and created by other developers on the Unity Asset Store. However, now that I have a fully released game under my belt (LINK: https://aquaphoenix101.itch.io/bewitched-bones), I have the desire to teach myself into 3D modelling. That is part of the choice for the doughnut / hotdog gameplay; simply shaped and easily recognizable objects.

In short, this project is a driving tool for me to learn the 3D modelling software, Blender.

Gameplay Premise

At the Dognut Cafe, workers are tasked with creating our titular treat. Patrons from across counties come to get a taste of our piping hot dognuts. Cooked by our employees and immediately sent out to patrons, dognuts are the ultimate treat when it comes to airborne delivery. Workers are encouraged to work as long as possible as serve more patrons before clocking out for the day.

Development Result

Within the first two hours of development, I have successfully done the following.

  1. Created a player controller w/ Hotdog Launcher
  2. Created doughnut spawners
  3. Implemented the "Skewering" mechanic. Players launch hotdogs into doughtnuts, the doughnuts are skewered and "stuck" to the hotdog, after a bit of time they both despawn and provide the player with points.
