Simulator & Deployment - Appacts/appacts-sdk-blackberry GitHub Wiki
So far you have used Step 1 to reference our jar file into your project. This allowed your project to read our class libraries so that your project would compile.
Deployment to simulator
When you want to test your application in a simulator you will need to copy “AppactsPlugin.cod” into your IDE simulator folder i.e. “C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 5.0.0\simulator”. If you don’t you will get an error “AppactsPlugin” module not found.
Deployment to Blackberry Apps World
Once you are confident that your app is working and it’s uploading data onto the Appacts server you are ready to deploy. All you have to do is take your .cod files (see image below for example) and upload them.
When a user downloads your app from the App World they will not see “AppactsPlugin.cod”. As it’s a library project they will see only your application with your application using “AppactsPlugin.cod” to log their customer experience information.
Deployment to handset using Blackberry Desktop Software (optional)
We urge you always to test your application on an actual device before submitting it to the store. To do so you will need to update the .alx (application loader) file. As your application requires “AppactsPlugin.cod” you simply need to make it part of the application loader otherwise Blackberry Desktop Software will copy “SampleApplication.cod” and ignore “AppactsPlugin.cod” and you will get an error “AppactsPlugin” module not found.
Before .alx file (without library dependency):
<loader version="1.0">
<application id="SampleApplication">
<name>Sample Application</name>
<description > </description>
<version >1.0.0.205</version>
<vendor >Appacts</vendor>
<copyright >Copyright (c) 2012 Appacts</copyright>
<fileset Java="1.54">
<directory ></directory>
<files >SampleApplication.cod</files>
</fileset>
</application>
</loader>After .alx file (with library dependency):
<loader version="1.0">
<application id="SampleApplication">
<name >Sample Application</name>
<description > </description>
<version >1.0.0.205</version>
<vendor >Appacts</vendor>
<copyright >Copyright (c) 2012 Appacts</copyright>
<fileset Java="1.54">
<directory ></directory>
<files >SampleApplication.cod</files>
</fileset>
<application id="AppactsPlugin">
<name >AppactsPlugin</name>
<description >Appacts Production</description>
<version >1.1.0.2322</version>
<vendor >Appacts</vendor>
<copyright >Copyright (c) 2012 Appacts</copyright>
<fileset Java="1.54">
<directory ></directory>
<files >AppactsPlugin.cod</files>
</fileset>
</application>
</application>
</loader>We hope you found this document useful. Please make sure you use this document alongside the “SampleApplication” source code (you can find this in the SDK folder).
