It's gone; what now?

So, you've lost your precious Atlas? That's unfortunate but not the end of the world. It's best always to keep a copy somewhere safe. This will also allow you to use your spare Atlas to find back to the place of your demise.

Spawn using server commands

This method requires OP permissions on multiplayer servers or cheats to be enabled in a single-player world.

But, even if you have no backup, you can spawn in your old Atlas using server commands:

Use this for Minecraft versions since 1.14:

/give @p antiqueatlas:antique_atlas{atlasID:1}

Replace the 1 with the number of the Atlas you're looking for.

But I'm still running old Minecraft in 2024

Use this command for old Minecraft versions:

/give @p antiqueatlas:antique_atlas 1 1

Replace the second `1` with your Atlas id.
