Versions (releases) - Another-Soul/NoxOS GitHub Wiki

v0.1

v0.1 is the first (initial) release of NoxOS which was released on May 11th, 2024. It introduced:

  • NoxUI 09.I (the first operating system)
  • 3 types of segments: blue (which give 5%), yellow (same as blue but do not give a progress bonus), and red (causes TES to appear once touched)
  • Scoring and scoring bonuses
  • About menu
  • Statistics

v0.1.1

v0.1.1 is the second (and last in the v0.1.x range) version of NoxOS, released on May 14th, 2024. It is a minor update, it made these changes:

  • The game shows a loading screen before the actual OS starts
  • Fixed a bug where opening menus did not disallow other menus (not caused by a button press in the active window) to be opened

v0.2

v0.2 is the third NoxOS version (released on May 21st, 2024). The changes were:

  • Added save files, allowing you to save your progress
  • Added NoxUI 09.II (new icons, increased level limit are all exclusive to this OS)
  • Added Boot menu, using which you can access both NoxUI 09.I and 09.II
  • Changes in initial progress bar position: The progressbar automatically spawns at the center of your screen when starting a level
  • Due to save files being added, the "Start from Level 1" button in Start menu now deletes your savefile instead of setting your level to 1
  • Opening About System menu causes the Start menu to close
  • Amount of TES (The Error Screens) now is tracked by the Statistics screen
  • OS loading stops any menus from being opened

v0.2.1

v0.2.1 is the fourth NoxOS update, released on May 24th, 2024. It made the level increase animation better, bringing a box and the OS name there as well. The possibility of pausing the game mid-level has also been added in this version. The more detailed changelog can be seen here:

  • Added the pause key (only Q for now), allowing you to pause the game in level
  • The progress bar will now "show" that a segment is collected by spawning a text which says "+5%", indicating that this segment was worth 5%
  • A small scoring rebalance: OS bonus awards 300 points on NoxUI 09.I or 600 points on NoxUI 09.II (from 200 and 400), the Perfectionist bonus awards 1200 points (from 800), and Reversed Perfectionist awards 1800 (from 1600)
  • The level increasing animation doesn't appear in NoxUI 09.II (because it's the last OS for now) and when you're on level 20+ in NoxUI 09.I (you've already unlocked the next OS)

v0.2.2

v0.2.2 is a minor update that was released on 26th of May, 2024. It added more improvements to the pause and quit level feature. v0.2.2 changed:

  • The segment, notification and notification flash timings, increasing segment speed and decreasing the time between notifications and until a segment becomes active
  • The quit key was added (Escape), which allows you to quit the level without having to beat it
  • If NoxOS is paused while in-level, a text saying "PAUSED" shows up in the level window (at the top).
