Currents 228 - Include currents and section information in Annotum DOIs

Dev

  • Add site setting for DOI prefix (optional)
  • Append DOI prefix to DOI hash, use . to separate
    • new : 10.1371/currents.tol.4f6cf3e8df15a
    • old : 10.1371/4f6cf3e8df15a

Testing

  • Add a DOI prefix in the theme settings screen
  • DOIs on the post edit screen should be prefixed with the DOI prefix (see ##Dev for example)
  • DOIs in the XML output should also take the new prefixed form
  • This should not effect existing DOIs, only newly created ones. DOIs 'stick' when the post is created, so if you change the prefix it will not change the prefix on existing articles

QA 228 Include DOI Prefix

  • Navigate to Appearance > Annotum Settings
  • At the bottom of the page enter your credentials, registrant code and DOI Prefix (add special characters and HTML to see how the article DOI looks when submitted) and save the page.
  • From the backend UI, Navigate to an Article (Edit Screen) and verify the meta box shows the DOI prefix (DOI Deposit)
  • THE DOI Field should not be editable (read only)
  • Change the DOI and verify it sticks to new articles only, all past articles created with the previously entered DOI should not change to the new DOI.
  • Verify the DOI is not required to submit the page
  • remove the credentials on Settings > Annotum Settings under the DOI section.
  • create a new article and submit the page. Verify the article can be submitted through review stages and published without the DOI being required.
  • Navigate to the frontend click the XML link and verify the correct DOI is shown for the article (perform a search for the DOI you created in the XML file created) and not shown if you created an article without a DOI.

Questions

  • Current implementation is that DOIs are created when the post comes into existance, not when it is published, is this ok?
    • Not an issue (hash is generated by post ID and name of blog, always unique)

Curents 175 - Remove subtitle field in the authoring tool

(PLOS-SPECIFIC BRANCH, NOT TO MERGE INTO MASTER)

Dev

  • Remove meta box
  • Remove front end
    • Technically it wont output if it doesnt exist, but no point in keeping it in there
  • Remove from XML output

Testing

  • Edit an article, subtitle should not exist
