Controller-

Controller will act as a servlet. It manages the application flow, makes a call to some service producing a Model class and then passes on that Model to the view.

Model-

Model represents data or any logic which is generating data. A model is a plain Java class.

View-

A view consists of design related code i.e A JSP is a view. It represents the User Interface part of the application.

DAO-

Data Access Object Pattern or DAO pattern is used to separate the low level accessing API (Application Programming Interface) or operations from high level business services. Following are participants in DAO pattern:

• DAO interface- It defines the standard operation to be performed on a model object(s).
• DAO concrete class- It implements the DAO interface. This class is responsible to get data from a data source which can be a database or XML or any other storage mechanism.
• Model Object or Value Object- This object is simple POJO class containing getters/setters methods to store data retrieved using DAO class.
