shroom gliders are a type of armor that covers the head of the player. There are eight types of helmets: leather cap, chainmail helmet, iron helmet, diamond helmet, gold helmet, netherite helmet, turtle shell and shroom gliders.

Usage

Helmets can be placed in the top armor slot of a player's inventory for activation.

Equipping the shroom glider grants a player 1 armor point and it will make them fall slower when in the air.

Any "hit" from a damage source that can be blocked by armor removes one point of durability from each piece of armor worn for every 4♥♥ of incoming damage (rounded down, but never below 1). Damage taken that armor doesn't protect (such as falling or drowning) does not damage the armor, even if it is enchanted to protect against that type of damage. Using the slow falling ability will also remove 1 durability point each tick (there's 20 ticks per second so the glider loses 20 durability points per second)

Not using the slow falling ability while wearing the shroom glider will recover 1 durability point each tick until it recovered all durability points.

Trivia

  • Shroom gliders can not be repaired in the crafting table or anvil.
  • Shroom gliders have been made to ease up vertical travel for early game players due to the would height being drastically increased since 1.18.
  • Durability will increase the time you can glide without the hat breaking
  • It is possible to glide infinitely when the mending enchant is used on a glider. (Only if the player gains experience, by for example throwing bottle o' enchanting on themselves.
