Installing OSGeoLive 13.0 on your system using virtual Machine

Prerequisites

• Download Virtual Box for your system Installation link
• Download the OSGeoLive 13.0 disk image from https://live.osgeo.org/en/download.html

Installation Steps:

Step 1: Install VirtualBox:

• Install the VirtualBox application, you will see below page:

Step 2: Name & Operating system:

• Enter the name you want for your Virtual Machine and choose the type of OS you are installing.

Step 3: Set Memory Size:

• Enter the size of RAM you want to set for your virtual machine; it is recommended till the green line.

Step 4: Hard Disk:

• Click on Create a virtual hard disk now to provide the secondary storage to our virtual machine.

Step 5: Specify Hard disk type:

• Click on VDI( Virtual Disk Image) to provide the type of file for our new virtual hard disk.

Step 6: Storage on physical hard disk:

• Click on Dynamically allocated to provide the flexibility for the space used.

Step 7: File location ad size:

• Specify the location for your secondary storage on your Host machine, and specify the disk size you want to allocate for your virtual machine.

Step 8: Set General Settings:

• To allow copy-paste operation between Host machine and Virtual machine, we need to do as shown below:

Step 9: Set Shared folder:

• To allow Sharing operation between the Host machine and Virtual machine, we need to do as shown below (we will create a mount point):

Step 10: Set Install Disk-Image:

• Specify the location of the Install .iso image of the OSGeoLive, from the highlighted icon.

Step 11: Set Install Disk-Image:

• Click on the start button, to start the installation of the virtual machine.

Step 12: Welcome to OSGeoLive 13.0!

• After setting the required username and password, you will see the below page.
