Lifestyle is a modded content expansion for the game Project Zomboid. The mod focus and adds to the game's life-simulation aspect by creating new interactions and features to make the virtual avatars feel and act more alive. This guide was created to help new users who are stuck or would like more information and guidance regarding the mod's mechanics.

- With several new mechanics and systems this beginner's guide can get rather lengthy so it's recommended to go trough it step-by-step, trying to get familiar with one activity before coming back to read about the next. Each topic covers a different area of the game, with general tips reserved for users already familiar with most of the mod's mechanics but wanting to check something they might have missed. Whenever a specific subject/mechanic is mentioned it will be
$\textcolor{yellow}{\text{color coded}}$ (e.g.$\textcolor{lightblue}{\text{Music}}$ and$\textcolor{purple}{\text{Disco}}$ ). This guide is meant to be used as an introduction to the mod and in no way depicts all the content present in it.

New
$\textcolor{green}{\text{positive}}$ and$\textcolor{red}{\text{negative}}$ traits can be selected like$\textcolor{lightblue}{\text{Virtuoso}}$ ,$\textcolor{gold}{\text{Neatfreak}}$ and$\textcolor{lightgreen}{\text{Disciplined}}$ . It's recommended to avoid picking any of the new$\textcolor{red}{\text{negative}}$ traits until you're more familiar with the mod's systems. -
Picking any of the new
$\textcolor{green}{\text{positive}}$ traits is usually a no-brainer and will generally make your experience with the mod easier by giving faster experience, better mood gain and more bonuses for the new activities, with the exception of game-changing traits like$\textcolor{lightgreen}{\text{Disciplined}}$ which are best avoided at first as they can drastically change how the character interacts with the mod's mechanics. -
$\textcolor{lightblue}{\text{Virtuoso}}$ makes your character better with$\textcolor{lightblue}{\text{playing musical instruments}}$ and$\textcolor{purple}{\text{entertaining at the dj booth}}$ , they'll level up the$\textcolor{lightblue}{\text{Music skill}}$ faster, get more enjoyment from music-related activities (except$\textcolor{purple}{\text{dancing}}$ ), make fewer mistakes while performing and are the best at improving the mood of other characters around them (as long as the listener isn't$\textcolor{lightblue}{\text{Tone-Deaf}}$ ).
