Team Meeting 4/19

Members Present:

Meeting Breakdown:

• After process discussion
• Analyzed completed functionality
• Discussed setbacks and process of bringing bot to completion
• Discussed edge cases and set goals for next milestone

Conclusions:

• Team was satisfied that they completed all issues set to be completed within the Process Milestone (go us!)
• Though it's more useful to know how to make a Slackbot due to the widespread use of Slack, the team would have been able to do more with a Discord bot, which might have been a better route to take in hindsight
• Edge cases discussed to be implemented in the following milestone include... Deducting more than one point when duplicate curse words are said in a single message and checking for unique words within a user response before giving a reward
• Team set up a Heroku account and are in the process of deploying the bot on Heroku

Next Milestone Goals:

• Finalize deploying the app on Heroku
• Fix edge cases the group has identified
• Implementing teacher functionality to the Slackbot
• Include emojis when sending messages to the students
• Discuss limitations of using the Slackbot with Professor Yang and Herb in regard to implementing functionality the team identified as "later functionality"
