Originally had special characters in this wiki page name:

Q: can I use subdirectories or slashes in a GitHub wiki? A: yes, but... problems

from the form of the name it would seem that I'd tried and figured out how to do this, with some problems.

Unfortunately, the current version does not have what those problems were.

I suspect that I deleted the page because of yet another problem: I am currently editing this wiki in cygwin on Windows, and Windows does not allow colons in filenames, as well as some other characters that are allowed in UNIX filenames.

TBD: recover what these problems were from the wiki git repo history (not urgent)
