Netlify Personal Access Tokens are using in autoamted deployments through GitHub Actions.

  1. Click on the account profile picture (bottom left), click on user settings.

  2. Select Applications and click on new access token.

  3. Fill the details and generate the token, these should be periodically rotated and even though one has access to the entire account, it is best to have one token per environment for traceability and increased security.

  4. Copy the resulting token, this will be configured later on in GitHub.

Once the token has been generate it can only be copied while the result view is shown, afterwards it is permanently hidden.
