What is an SVG graphic? - AndreasHeese/4sg GitHub Wiki
An SVG graphic is an image that doesn't contain the colour of the individual pixels, but the coordinates, colours and details of lines and curves. SVG files also are text files in XML format. The code can be edited with any editor. As with HTML, however, elements are defined from W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). SVG means „Scalable Vector Graphics‟. Besides editing, the greatest advantages are scalability without loss of quality and the fact that it is a well documented and supported open standard.
