User Stories

The User should be able to Login or Sign Up

  1. When user enters the homepage, user has an option to Sign Up or Login.
  2. If the user is signing up, the user has the option to either sign up my email, or sign up by facebook or google (if applicable)
  3. If the user is signing up, the user will receive verification email to verify their email
  4. Once the user is logged in, the user will have an option to select either GIVE or GET
  5. The user will be able to see the purpose of Givn, which is a site that aims to reduce food waste, electronic waste, and textile waste by giving away items instead of discarding them.
  6. The user will be able to see the site, and see some posts from givers, but will not be able to interact with posts or send messages until an account is created.

The User should be able to set items to GIVE.

  1. If the user selects GIVE, the user will be able to select a category of what item they are selling.
  2. When the user makes a post, they will be able to add a description of the item.
  3. The user should also be able to add pictures of the item.
  4. The user should be able to provide location of the item.
  5. The user should be able to edit/delete items.
  6. User should be able to see informational facts of how giving used items will help save the planet.

The User should be able to view items in GET.

  1. When the user selects GET, the user will be able to select location first.
  2. When the user selects the location, the user should be able to select the category of the item they are looking for.
  3. Once the user selects a category, they should be able to search up the item, and matches with posts including said item should appear.
  4. User should be able to click on item, view description, and view pictures.
  5. User should be able to see informational facts of how getting used items will help save the planet.

The User should be able to communicate with other Users.

  1. The user should be able to send messages to users who are giving away items.
  2. The user should be able to provide feedback/comments on user's profiles to prove validation of users giving away items.
  3. Before meeting the giver, the user should see a prompt reminding the getter to wear a mask.

The User has Incentives

  1. There will be a tier system depending on how much someone gives away.
  2. Implementing donating feature for users to donate to the site.
  3. The pool of donations will be given to the people on the top of the leaderboards of those who give the most.
  4. The points users will receive will only be given to givers.
  5. The getters will have an option to tip the givers after receiving their item.
