Aldmeri

"The Aldmer are special amongst children of the Ehlnofey, always striving to reclaim the splendor of lost times. Settling the Summerset Isles during the Merethic Era, they gradually spread across the archipelago starting with Firsthold on Auridon. Many dissidents arose from their ranks to set sail on the mainland. The Corelanya sought their fate in nearby Hegathe while the Chimer journeyed as far east as Resdayn. Later even, the Direnni clan moved to Balfiera.

Summerset's remaining population — now called Altmer — developed a highly stratified society. Apraxic outcasts suffer banishment for breaking social norms. The Altmer are very self-centered, with Auridon being more amenable to outsiders while Alinor is their closed-off heartland. In contrast, High Rock's Balfieri are more open-minded, even connecting with outside nobility through marriage: something utterly abhorrent in ancestral Summerset."

Alinori

"The Alinori are the core Altmer culture, based on Summerset Isle. They take great pride in their lineages and think themselves superiors to outsiders for which they have no lack of scorn. Few can claim to know magic better than the Alinori Mages, especially their highly esteemed Sapiarchs."

Auridoni

"The Auridoni are the Altmer living on the second largest island of the Summerset Isles, lying right in the middle between Alinor and Tamriel. Though still wary of outsiders, Auridoni are more accepting than the Altmer of Alinor. For the Alinori, Auridon serves as both a barrier and window of influence from their mainland, and the Auridoni embrace these roles fully. Mainland Tamriel has many Altmer scholars, traders and travelers, and no fewer of them come from Auridon despite the difference in population between it and Alinor."

Balfieri

"Centered around Balfiera in the Iliac Bay, this culture is tied to the destinies of High Rock and the Direnni Clan. Ruling as a minority elite has made them far more tolerant than their cousins in Alinor. They have made fine conquerors and rulers as the ancient Hegemony can prove. Many Bretons begrudgingly admire the refinement of the Balfieri Elves. Yet often one may find a Breton following the culture of their Direnni overlords."

Corelanya
