Creating the Height Map - Akkokoro/Remastering-Textures-in-Substance GitHub Wiki

Height Map is divided by 5 Layers.

  • A Smart Material "Bronze Statue" that will use a "White Mask" to define a grainy texture on the edges of the horns and Scales.
  • A large brush layer that will slightly deform the surface and horns to create depth effect. (no color)
  • A medium brush layer that will define the edges of the scales only. (no color)
  • A thin brush layer that will add scratches all over the surface, note that these scratches will have to be erased with a soft brush only from the area of origin the Scales got, creating a gradient on the scratches.
  • A thin brush layer that will define all the divisions between the scales and the horns, this one uses the color displayed on the picture.
