Description

A claim (aka roleclaim) is a statement of what your role is. Players do this to give valuable information for team good, stop themselves from getting lynched or to narrow down the players the werewolves could be (see massclaiming).

Effectiveness

This often depends on the information that the role divulges. A Seer that reveals who all the werewolves are is much more effective than a role that claimed to avoid getting lynched.

One problem with claiming is that it exposes the role to being targeted by the werewolves at night, as the quicker the claimer is eliminated, the better for the werewolves.
