Sprint 1 – Prototype - AgileBusinessAnalysis/01_TEAM GitHub Wiki
Approach
After sketching possible solutions and deciding which ones to focus on, we were faced with the task of building a prototype. The prototype should be a first version of the application, including basic functionalities that should be offered to the user. The prototype will then be shown to potential users to test and validate the chosen approach.
Scenario
For the prototype, we defined a scenario to limit the functionality and testing scope. The scenario of the prototype is as follows (described in a basic flow of events style):
- The user has already registered on the platform and is now using the application for the first time
- The application show a welcome screen to the user and presents the first five questions about the user's relationship and another five questions about the user's partner
- The user answers all ten questions
- The application provides three activity recommendations based on the user's answers
- The user looks at all three recommendations, selects one and closes the application
As many of the functionalities we want to offer are based on user data, we have chosen to make data gathering the first step of the prototype. As soon as the user has registered, he/she is asked an array of questions regarding his/her partner and their relationship. By asking questions about the partner, we want to elicit certain facts about him/her, such as importance of family and friends, job situation and hobbies. The questions about the relationship should help us in identifying at which stage the couple is and how the relationship looks like in a daily environment. From this, we are able to elicit certain challenges the couple might face. The application then provides the user with some recommendations he/she could integrate into the relationship.
Paper prototype
In a first iteration, we created a paper prototype with the help of post-its and scissors. This prototype was then evaluated team internally and the first findings were then directly implemented in a first digital version of it in form of a mobile app.
Mobile prototype – Version 1
The mobile app version of the prototype is realised with the online tool Ionic Creator and we came up with the name Wisely. The goal of the prototype is to verify the scenario of collecting information about partner and relationship via questions in a mobile app. The focus is rather on the process than the design.
These first three images show how the user is welcomed by the app (after downloading it and successfully registering). The user than gets asked about general information about his/her partner like the nickname and the age. Then, a series of five questions are asked about the partner. After completing these five questions, the process is repeated for gathering information about the relationship.
After also answering the five questions about the relationship, the user is then informed that the first tips can be accessed. There are three tips the user can choose, two of them can bee seen in the images above. The tips contain basic information and might also contain an affiliate link to topic relevant information the user then directly can access. This would be the end of the mobile prototype's first version.
