Assets are where the media content used in the website is stored. There are two volumes:
- Site Assets - Where resources required by the site is stored
- Media - Resources uploaded for use in content
Please Note The following operations can be completed from within an Entry or Global Editor where an Asset upload is supported.
Editing a asset
To update the metadata of an asset, double click on it.
- The file name should not be modified
- The title is used to make it easier identify the image when finding it in the CMS
- Alternative text should be provided when the asset is an image. The text should be a visual description of the image for visual impaired users.
Important! You must add alternative text to every image that will be displayed in the website. Not doing so can make the website in breach of the UK Equality Act 2010.
Advanced editing
To access the Advanced Editing options, click the Checkbox next to the image that you want to edit. There are different operations you can complete:
- View the asset in a browser tab
- Download the file
- Edit the asset metadata
- Rename the file
- Replace the asset file
- Delete asset
Uploading an asset
- Click on the Media volume in the Assets sidebar and then Add asset in the top right.
- Use the file picker to choose the file.
- Once uploaded, double click on the asset to update the metadata.
