Properties

• Balsa wood is obtained from Ochroma (also known as Balsa tree).
• One of the lightest woods.
• Soft and easy to cut into any desired shapes.Hence, considered as the standard material for model airplane construction.
• Fibres are aligned in one direction and are hollow.
