Civilizations in KSDF are mostly the same as vanilla, but have somewhat differing characteristics. Goblins, for example, still sport iron and bronze. Elves, however, come in both whimsical and the new 'ashen' variant of their merry, cannibalistic species. They are generally more dangerous, but with higher risk comes higher reward!

Goblins: No longer immortal, more partial to certain biomes. Access to Copper, Iron, Bronze. Attack in Fall and Winter.

Elves: Access to a special knowledge granting the ability to create Astrum, an odd metal sung from the woods of their sacred groves. It has an incredibly sharp edge, but proves to be quite brittle for a 'celestial' material. This gives the Elves a harsh bite, but very little defensive increase.

Ashen Elves: Access to both Elvish and Human materials- Astrum, copper, bronze, and Iron. This gives Ashen-led sieges a formidable staying power.
