In this project I mainly built the room, including the models, texture and lighting, except for the panel which was done by Euris and TR. Besides I also made camera control and the selection manager. Anyway, explaining to an imaginary somebody to recreate my scene: we have a new theme compared to the original game, and the general idea is that you’re on this sci-fi futuristic spaceship, and remember to leave some space for puzzle hints and posters, and definitely not to overdo things. For example, in the original game there are so many different kinds of shelves and cupboards and stuff stored behind, and that’s a lot of different models to make, but it’s not that necessary in our version. So what I would do is to make something that would take up a lot of space and could also be easily transformed into different sizes or variations, so that visually the scene wouldn’t be that boring to look at. More specifically, make models that share the same elements, the same style. Make some reusable elements, like the same style of corners for boxes and anything that has corners, so that you would have a room with a consistent design scheme, and at the same time, it would save you a lot of time.
