Week 1 - Adam-Hachem/SEC335 GitHub Wiki

This week's activities:

1. Basic Passive Reconnaissance:

This week, we got to use tools such as TheHarvester, Netcraft, and Metagoofil to collect publicly accessible information about a target.

2. Discussion of Ethics for Penetration Testers:

We came up with a list of rules that every penetration tester should adhere to, such as informed consent, staying in scope, and data privacy.

3. Set Up of a Kali VM and Remote Access:

We set up a Kali Linux VM. Kali Linux is a popular distro for penetration testing and comes with many useful tools. We installed a simple remote access backdoor using Google's Remote Desktop extension.
